Mission Statement: Relationships. Rigor. Results.
Education Focus: Garrett Morgan School of Engineering and Innovation is a gateway to the world. We offer four courses focused on engineering: Introduction to Engineering Design, Principles of Engineering, Digital Electronics, and Industrial Robotics. Through these courses, our students develop a strong foundation in areas such as 3D modeling, circuits, physics, and technical drawings. Our students are equipped with the necessary knowledge to further their education in STEM fields, and have the opportunity to earn certificates and industry credentials that they can use in the workforce. With a focus on developing well-rounded students with strong critical thinking skills and leadership capabilities, our curriculum introduces students to a variety of academic subjects and materials, with opportunities for exploration of the arts. Garrett Morgan School of Engineering and Innovation graduates are ready for life after high school - whether it's college or career.
With an overall focus of educating students in engineering and sciences, our curriculum is developed in a way to introduce students to a variety of academic subjects and materials with arts enhancement.
Housed on a new site right off the lake in an arts-rich community, GMSEI will have a project-based approach to understand and embrace engineering and will offer a plethora of science courses also. GMSEI is for the student who is into science, math, the arts, enjoys thinking critically, and using their creativeness to problem-solve. Students will become engaged in compelling, real-world challenges to become better collaborators and thinkers.
Students will graduate enriched by real-world work exposure and prepared for the 21st century by participating in an internship/externship. Garrett Morgan School of Engineering students will be college and career ready upon graduation.
