Our school represents a diverse population that welcomes all families and students. We provide learning at the highest academic standards, which includes Project Based Learning and an innovative academic curriculum. We take pride in incorporating the arts, which includes an upper elementary and middle school band, a choir, a spotlight theatre club that includes yearly musicals, and two art teachers specializing in elementary and middle school art. Our music program includes dazzling winter and spring musical theatrical performances. Our school embraces PBIS principles throughout all grades. In our pursuit of a more fair, just, and good system of education, it is CMSD’s vision that each of our learners, both each of our scholars and each of their educators, is individually and collectively presented with academically/intellectually complex tasks that are worthy of their productive struggle and allow them authentic opportunities to demonstrate their work and their learning of academic content and transferable skills in a joyful and adventurous environment.

Seven CMSD students picked to sit on Congresswoman Brown’s Youth Council
Rep. Brown hopes to learn more about what issues are important to some of her youngest constituents through her newly formed Youth Advisory Council. Out of the 18 students selected to serve on her council, seven are from the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.
