My name is Ms. Foote. I have been the secretary at Mary B. Martin since 2013. In addition to my Mary B. Martin family, I have two incredible daughters and two orange tabby cats at home.

Ms. Rzucidlo has been at Mary B. Martin for 10 years and teaches Preschool Special Education.  She attended Cleveland Public Schools and graduated from Cleveland State University.   She lives in Cleveland with her two cats, Pyewacket and Hermione Ginger.  She enjoys reading, cheering on the Guardians, and traveling - especially visiting her nieces and nephews.

My name is Ms. DeVille! This is my 6^th year teaching. I am currently the Kindergarten teacher here at Mary B. Martin. I have always enjoyed working with children and I have worked with various grade levels including preschool, kindergarten, and first grade. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Kent State University. A couple fun facts about me are that I love to travel, especially to warm places, and I have a twin brother. I also love to try new things, especially new food! I am excited to continue my teaching career here at Mary B. Martin. Go Bees!

My name is Tawana Dukes and I am an Intervention Specialist. I teach grades K-8 within the inclusion classroom setting. I have a true passion for working with our scholars from the youngest to the oldest! I help children progress in all areas of their development academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally. I strive to create a community of learning that nurtures this growth in a positive and engaging environment. I have been working within the Cleveland Metropolitain School District since 2001. It has been a pleasure teaching the scholars over the years.

I have been an educator to exceptional learners for the past 7 years. I am a CMSD parent and have 2 sons. Education is my passion, and I am very excited to be joining the Mary B. Martin School community.

My name is Ms. Hatfield.  I am currently teaching 1^st grade at Mary B. Martin.  I have had the pleasure of working for Cleveland Metropolitan Schools for 23 years. I have worked primarily in grades 1-3.  I earned my master’s degree through Walden University and received my teaching degree through Hiram College.  A couple fun facts about me are that I was inducted to the Hiram basketball Hall of Fame in 2018 and that I have a twin brother.  I enjoy gardening outside with my two chocolate labs and playing competitive games.

Hi, my name is Ms. Simchon.  I am the 2^nd grade teacher at Mary B Martin.  I have been teaching in CMSD for 26 years.  I have taught grades Prek-3.  During my free time, I love to workout.  I have competed in many benchmark work outs and have beat my times each and every time.  A fun fact about myself, I have played tennis since I was 10 and made it to state tournaments where I had to stop playing in the middle of the game because of an injury.  I have two boys in college that are my world.  

My name is Chandra Johnson and I am the 3rd grade teacher here at Mary B. Martin.  I am licensed to teach PreK through 3rd grade, and I also have my reading endorsement.  I have been teaching since 2012 and am a proud graduate of Ursuline College.  When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my very energetic Bulldog, Pandora, traveling, and spending time with my family.   I am very committed to allowing your child to develop intellectually, socially, creatively, and individually in an instructional setting characterized by high expectations.

Hi! My name is Alexz Farrell. I was born and raised in the Cleveland area and then moved down to Cincinnati, Ohio for college. I then lived there for a total of 6 years, while also teaching fourth grade for 2 years down there. I currently reside in North Olmsted, Ohio. Outside of school I coach cheerleading at Lutheran West High School, work on my side craft business, and playing beach volleyball with my friends! I am very excited to start this new journey at Mary B. Martin.

Hello! I am Jolita Smith a S.T.E.M. educator at Mary B. Martin. I am originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, though I have been teaching at Mary B. Martin since 2015. I am a graduate of Chestnut Hill College where I received a B.S. in Elementary Education, and Cleveland State University where I earned a Master’s in School Counseling. I currently teach 6th and 8th grade Math and Science. I am a fan of S.T.E.A.M.- based instruction and I take joy in helping scholars learn to love science and math through hands-on investigations. When I am not at Mary B. Martin I enjoy taking long walks and spending time with my family. 

My name is Richard Davis and I am a middle school teacher at Mary B. Martin. I have been teaching in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District since 1997. I enjoy helping each student work towards their potential and achieve their goals and aspirations. In my free time, I enjoy bowling, playing basketball and spending time with family and friends. I look forward to continuing to inspire students to become great leaders in the classroom and in their community.

My name is Mr. Burton. I am the Intervention Specialist for the Lower MD/Autism Unit at Mary B. Martin. I have been at Mary B. Martin for over 10 years and have a Masters in Special Education and Major in History and Social Studies. History is a hobby for me as well; as I work on a museum ship in Downtown Cleveland, Ohio. I am into motorsports, science-fiction, and enjoy people. 

Hello, my name is Jacqueline Vance and I teach Computer Science and Technology for grades Pre-K - 6^th and Career Technical Education for 7^th and 8^th grade. I have a background teaching middle childhood mathematics and science. I run the STEAM lab located on the second floor and engage students in hands-on activities that involve science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. I spend my free time reading books, doing yoga, and working on house projects. I am excited to continue bringing 21^st century learning to students through STEAM based practices.

Hello!  My name is Mrs. Townsend and I’m an Intervention Specialist.  Although I can service scholars in all grades, I primarily service scholars in grades 3 –5. I’ve been with CMSD since 1998, and this is my 14th year at Mary B. Martin. I earned my bachelor’s degree at Ursuline College. I received my master’s degree at Cleveland State University.  I am very committed to providing all scholars with the opportunity to develop intellectually, socially, creatively, and individually in an instructional setting characterized by high expectations.  I enjoy relaxing, shopping, spending time with my family and helping others.

Hello, my name is Liz Knab and I am the new intervention specialist at Mary B. Martin. I will be working with grades 6,7, and 8. I am dedicated to helping each child gain confidence both academically and socially. Outside of school, I enjoy reading, being outdoors, and playing sports. I look forward to a great school year!

Hey there!  I'm Mrs. Britt Chisholm (no relation to our Mr. Chisholm).  I am the PCIA, S.E.L. Coordinator, Para CTU Rep, and all around go to person, here at MBM.  I've been with CMSD since 2006; with my career beginning in Special Ed Pre-K.  I have 4 human kids and 3 fur babies.  I enjoy reading and writing in my spare time, so it's no surprise that I attended Kent State University for their Journalism program.  When I'm not here tending to my 200+ school babies, I enjoy traveling the world with my husband and our family.

Ms. Melissa Damm-Young (CCCCC) is a CMSD Alumni C/O 🙂. I am continuing my education in education/nursing. I have a grown son and many nieces and nephews. I am living my best life enjoying each day with family and friends. I love crafting and fixing things, hanging out at the beach and helping others. 

Hi! I am Penina Weiss, the Speech Language Pathologist at Mary B. Martin. I am originally from Toronto, Canada, where I got my B. A. in Community Studies. I graduated from Nova Southeastern Univeristy with a Masters of Science in Speech Language Pathology in 2017, and I have been providing services at Mary B. Martin since 2018. I love working with school age children on articulation, phonology, listening comprehension, expressive language, social skills, AAC, fluency, and vocabulary. When I am not at Mary B. Martin I enjoy reading novels and spending time with my family. 

Ms. Julie has been with CMSD for 10 years.  Prior to that she was a preschool teacher for many years before earning her Masters in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Akron.  She lives with her husband and dog and has 2 grown sons.  She loves working with preschool aged students and helping them find ways to communicate.  When she's home she loves to read, do crafts, and travel. 

My name is Mrs. Tamika Johnson, and I serve as the Say Yes Family Support Specialist. With over 25 years of experience in education, I am currently pursuing my second master's degree in mild/moderate intervention. My passion lies in working with students and families, advocating for equity, inclusion, and the academic rights of all individuals. I am a proud wife and mother to two beautiful daughters. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, gardening, traveling, attending church, and crafting.
