Student Advisory Committee submits questions for CEO Candidates (Video)

During the last Student Advisory Committee meeting of the academic year, students formed and submitted questions that could potentially be asked during the CEO candidate interviews that occurred in late April.

In group discussions, students laid out their concerns, hopes and priority issues they want to share with the CEO candidates.

On Thursday, April 20th The Cleveland Board of Education announced the two CEO finalists. Dr. Warren Morgan and Dr. Rocky Torres have both previously worked in the district.

The proposed questions created for the finalists ran the gamut of educational concerns.

A student from Collinwood High School question for the candidates was the following: “What will you as the new CEO do to improve and renovate older buildings and give all buildings the same opportunities, technology, and supplies?”

Other students wanted to probe the CEO candidate’s thoughts on school nutrition, school uniforms, expectations of teachers, and the possibility of allowing teachers greater freedom to be creative in the preparation and delivery of lesson plans.
