5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Long-Term Planning Community Meeting (Round 2)
Nestled in the Old Brooklyn neighborhood you will find one of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District's high-performing, innovative high schools. Our students participate in community service projects, represent our school around the country and meet local and national leaders who teach students how to advocate for change.
Imagine a school where your child is encouraged to stand up and speak out for justice, peace and diversity. Facing History New Tech High School is the only school of its kind in the nation, using the Facing History and Ourselves curriculum along with the teamwork approach of the New Tech Network.
Our diverse student population studies racism, prejudice and anti-Semitism to develop more informed citizens who connect history and their own moral choices. Be part of the change!
We are a safe space for LGBTQ students.
Ten District teachers have learned that they have won this year’s Excellence in Teaching Award. The honor goes to teachers who demonstrate instructional expertise, creativity and innovation and set an example for their peers.
The event, billed as a summit, was actually sort of mixer for mentors. The 300 students participate in the Boomerang Project's Link Crew program, which shows juniors and seniors how to work with ninth-graders and help them make the transition to high school.
Cleveland’s public schools have a long way to go but are gathering momentum, CEO Eric Gordon said Thursday in the annual State of the Schools address.
The first five meetings will allow the District to share data and collect feedback on academic quality, enrollment trends and forecasts, and building use and conditions. The next five will include presentation of “emerging recommendations.”
