Students, welcome to U.S. History and Economics! 

 

In the U.S. History portion of the course, we will examine the history of the UnitedStates of America from 1877 to present. We will learn how various episodes in history have shaped the nature of the country today, and prepared it to attend to the challenges of tomorrow. We will learn how to understand how these events have come to pass, and their meaning for today's citizens will be a focus of this course. The concepts of historical thinking that were introduced last year will be built on, and you will continue to learn how to analyze primary and secondarysources from multiple perspectives.

 

In the Economics portion of the course, we will explore and discover the fundamentals that guide individuals and nations as they make choices about how to use limited resources to satisfy their wants. Specifically, we will examine the ability of individuals to use this knowledge and skills to manage limited financial resources effectively for a lifetime of financial security.

 

This is my first year teaching at John Marshall School of Civic and Business Leadership, but my fourth year in the district. My first three years were spent teaching at John Adams High School. I'm a Cleveland transplant, having moved north from Columbus. I love to travel, enjoy watching sports and hiking on the weekends.
