Wade Park places an emphasis on teaching students manners, discipline, respect and how to conduct themselves in a professional environment.

During the Amazing Shake Competition, students were judged on their poise, charisma, social etiquette and handshakes.

In its second year at Wade Park, the competition consists of stations set up around the school that students must pass through, exercising etiquette and demonstrating their handshakes. As students progressed to more difficult rounds of the competition, a select few met one-on-one with District CEO Eric Gordon and Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson.

The Amazing Shake Competition was created by The Ron Clark Academy in Atalanta. Last year several Wade Park students competed in the national competition in Atlanta, and they hope to do the same this year.
