CMSD preschoolers help decorate District tree (Video, Photo gallery)

Preschoolers from Adlai E. Stevenson School made a special holiday trip to District Headquarters today to decorate the Christmas tree with CEO Eric Gordon.

In early December, the students spent a morning making ornaments that included a reindeer made from popsicle sticks, a mitten made with construction paper and elves made of felt.

During their visit the students had lunch, sang festive songs with Gordon and then one by one put their ornaments on the tree.  Some didn’t want Gordon’s help, but others asked him to lift them up so their ornaments could be close to the top.

Many CMSD employees stopped working to watch the exuberant children, who filled a reception area, enjoy their time with the CEO.

“It's always a fun time when we invite our youngest scholars to the administrative offices to spread some holiday cheer,” said Gordon.
