CMSD will welcome students back to full, five-day in-person instruction this fall, while following health guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and state law.
CEO Eric Gordon on Monday released the following back-to-school information:
- For the first five weeks of school, or until the CDC issues different recommendations, all CMSD students, employees and school visitors, including those who are fully vaccinated, will continue wearing masks at school and during indoor school events and activities.
- CMSD will maintain 3-foot social distancing where practical and the use of touchless thermometers.
- The District will offer vaccination clinics for students over the age of 11 and their families as well as free, voluntary, COVID-19 testing.
- Students will not be required to wear formal school uniforms unless a uniform is part of their child’s school model.
- For families who prefer a remote option, CMSD will continue to operate its Virtual Academy while also opening a formal remote school staffed by CMSD teachers and educators.
