Willson is a PreK-8 school that offers a unique, individualized learning experience and strives to create meaningful connections with the community. Here are some of the exciting things going on at Willson:
The Willson Meditation Room gives students time to regroup while not losing instructional time.
A dozen CMSD schools made the Alliance for a Healthier Generation’s list, which began in 2006, singles out schools for promoting exercise, nutrition and safety among students and staff.
Willson PreK-8 School held a ribbon cutting on Tuesday – for a washer and dryer. The appliances will be used to clean and dry dirty uniforms, which are often cited as a reason why children miss school. Residents also can do laundry at Willson at certain times.
Asthma can be a massive drain on schools, causing children to miss class, lose energy and, in extreme cases, end up in the hospital. The illness can be deadly but it's also treatable, which is why University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital is stepping in to help at a CMSD school.
The CMSD Summer Learning Experience is on the way, offering fun and adventure in a safe environment for students of all ages. And it’s free. Registration is now open!
CMSD graduates received a boost this year from new Say Yes to Education scholarships that pay up to the full value of tuition. The scholarships may be used at all public colleges and universities and Pell-eligible training programs in Ohio and more than 100 private colleges and universities across the country.
