Willson is a PreK-8 school that offers a unique, individualized learning experience and strives to create meaningful connections with the community. Here are some of the exciting things going on at Willson:
The Willson Meditation Room gives students time to regroup while not losing instructional time.
A dozen CMSD schools made the Alliance for a Healthier Generation’s list, which began in 2006, singles out schools for promoting exercise, nutrition and safety among students and staff.
Willson PreK-8 School held a ribbon cutting on Tuesday – for a washer and dryer. The appliances will be used to clean and dry dirty uniforms, which are often cited as a reason why children miss school. Residents also can do laundry at Willson at certain times.
Asthma can be a massive drain on schools, causing children to miss class, lose energy and, in extreme cases, end up in the hospital. The illness can be deadly but it's also treatable, which is why University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital is stepping in to help at a CMSD school.
CMSD relaunched it’s Get To School, You Can Make It attendance campaign last September with a district-wide pep rally and inspirational speakers. Ever since then, the work of fighting truancy has continued unabated.
Students in kindergarten through 12th grade can receive live online tutoring from CMSD teachers in reading and English Language Arts, math, science and social studies from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Additionally, tutoring will be available to students in 6th through 12th grades 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through TutorMe.
Please provide your contact information so we can reach you for school cancellations, emergencies or instant notification of your child’s absence from school.
CMSD relaunched its Get 2 School, You Can Make It attendance campaign Wednesday, with speakers at a pep rally providing words of inspiration and telling students about the importance of attending school every day.
