Eric Larson's Professional Development with Cleveland Metropolitan School District Teachers
The Healthy Schools Program (HSP) brings parents, school staff, and students together to turn campuses into healthier places. On February 17, 2017, Mr. Eric Larson, Physical Education and Physical Activity Content Advisor for Alliance for Healthier Generation provided a professional development on Health Related Fitness Assessment and Fitness Activities. Mr. Larson's professional development provided each physical education teacher the understanding of the Presidential Youth Fitness Program (PYFP) and Health Related Fitness Activities; how PYFP fits into a quality physical education program; and research links on health related fitness and academic achievement. Moreover, each CMSD Physical Education Teacher was provided information on the many components of school health/wellness and how fitness education and assessment connects to the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child Approach.
