The MISSION of Dike School of the Arts is to meet all students' academic, social and emotional needs while promoting expression through, and rigorous study of, the arts.
The VISION of Dike School of the Arts is to provide equitable opportunities for all of our students to receive rigorous art and academic instruction within a culture of compassion, support and high expectations that lead to well-rounded high school students with the academic, social and artistic skills to pursue further study in a particular art form.
The Fine Arts Program at DSA
Our youngest students in Grades PreK-3 are introduced to the foundations of music history and theory, dance, theater, drawing, painting, singing and instrumentals.
Our students in Grades 4-8 choose a minor and major of study from the following fine art forms: drama, dance, band, orchestra, visual arts and choir. Students are mentored by professional teaching artists who are also performers and artists in their own right.
DSA partners with The Cleveland Orchestra, Cleveland School of the Arts, The Music Settlement, Tri-C, The Center for Arts-Inspired Learning, Studio Institute, The Cleveland Playhouse and the Cleveland Institute of Music to provide additional instruction and exposure to the performing arts through private lessons, residencies and field trips to professional concerts and performances.
