• Journeys:
Journeys is a common core aligned curriculum that drives instruction for grades k-5 at George Washington Carver.  The curriculum incorporates Close Reading as a strategy that allows students to dive deeper into the text and develop a better understanding of the material.  In addition to printed material there is an online component that enables teachers to make the instruction interactive.  The teachers also have the ability differentiate instruction through the use of leveled readers and accompanying mini lessons that support small group instruction.
