Summer Break is a great time for continued student learning.

For the third consecutive summer, CMSD will offer the Summer Learning Experience, a fun and academic enrichment effort specifically tailored for all grade levels from preschool to 12^th grade.

Starting on June 20^th, it will be presented for free at more than three dozen school sites throughout the city.

The Summer Learning Experience day for rising kindergartners and kindergartens will consist of hands-on, play-based learning experiences. Students in grades 1-8 will be able to choose between enrichment projects in STEM, art, or humanities. In the afternoon, students will engage in fun activities that involve community partners.

High school students can finish the school year strong by making up credits or earning additional credits. In the afternoon, they can take advantage of employment or internship opportunities.

Student transportation is covered. K-8 students will receive yellow bus transportation from the nearest K-8 school. High school students will receive tickets to ride RTA. Daily breakfast and lunch will be provided for all students.

The summer learning experience isn’t limited to students. Say Yes family support specialists will be at the summer sites to link students and families to support services. Parents and caregivers will also be able to engage with on-site Parent Ambassadors and enjoy Parent Cafes, and other activities designed for families.

Registration for Summer Learning begins on April 3^rd.  

For three weeks before the Summer Learning Experience, community partners such as the city of Cleveland, Cleveland Metroparks and Cleveland Public Library are offering camps for students of varying ages. Some of these camps require a fee, and families are responsible for transportation.
