• Daniel Edgar Morgan (August 7, 1877 – May 1, 1949) a native of Oak Hill is the southern Ohio coal fields, the son of a railroad station agent; he became Cleveland city manager an appellate judge.
     
    Morgan headed the city government from 1930 to 1932, when the mayor-council plan was reinstated. Appointed to the Court of Appeals by Governor John W. Bricker in 1939, he remained on that bench until his death at the age of 71 in 1949.
     
    Previously Morgan has served in the Ohio Senate, where he did major work on bills covering juvenile courts, the election code and the habitual criminal act.
