Dr. Molly Buckley-Marudas
Molly Buckley-Marudas, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Adolescent & Young Adult English Education in the College of Education and Human Services at Cleveland State University. At CSU, Dr. Buckley teaches Young Adult Literature, Inquiry-Based Instruction and Assessment for Adolescent & Young Adult English Instruction, and Content Area Literacy. Dr. Buckley received her Ph.D. in Language and Literacy from the University of Pennsylvania in the Spring of 2012, her MA in Education Policy, Organization, and Leadership Studies from Stanford University in 2006, and her BA in English from the College of the Holy Cross in 1999. During her doctoral studies, she worked extensively in a 10th grade Humanities class at a public high school in Philadelphia. As part of this work, Dr. Buckley conducted a two-year ethnographic study that followed 120 students to better understand adolescent literacy learning in this digital era. Prior to graduate studies, Dr. Buckley taught English and Social Studies in Washington, D.C. A native Clevelander, Dr. Buckley was happy to come home to join the CSU faculty in 2012. Currently, Dr. Buckley is involved in projects in the Cleveland area related to adolescent literacy, digital literacies, English Education, and critical inquiry. Dr. Buckley began working with the Campus International School Upper School Advisory Committee in Fall of 2016.
