• Campus Conference 2019

Our second annual Campus Conference: a Youth Research Symposium on March 22, 2019, once again featured our CIHS students' original research as part of our unique and innovative "IB Core" progression of courses. This year, our ninth graders' YPAR Community Projects, the first in a series of three major individually-designed research projects that students undertake as part of the "IB Core" progression, were once again showcased in a "Poster Session".

Our 10th grade students completed a Personal Project as the culmination of their "MYP" (Middle Years Programme) academic work that is part of the International Baccalaureate model (CIHS is currently an IB Candidate School presenting the IB program and hoping to be qualified as an IB World School in 2019). These Personal Projects were presented in the Poster Session as well as in our first ever Exhibit Hall and several panels and roundtable discussions.

In 2020, Campus Conference will be expanded into a multi-day affair with the addition of research associated with students' Extended Essays in the Diploma Programme Years 1 and 2 (Grades 11 and 12). Students learn research methods and cultivate their intellectual passions by engaging in their IB Core projects.

This year we were honored to welcome our first non-CIHS participants, with participation by students from our sister school and CSU's other partner high school, MC2 STEM Academy.

Campus Conference is a collaboration with the Cleveland State University College of Education & Human Services and is led by CIHS' Professor-in-Residence, Dr. Molly Buckley-Marudas. This year's keynote speaker was Cleveland State University President Harlan Sands. We look forward to you joining us for our 2nd Annual Campus Conference in 2020!
