Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year.  I trust that you and your child had a lovely summer.  I will use a variety of tools and strategies to offer differentiated instruction and rigor.  I am looking forward to a very exciting and rewarding school year with the help of all stakeholders.  Students are expected to Be Prompt, Be Prepared, Be Productive, Be Peaceful and Be Polite.

Attendance:

Students are expected to come to school on time daily.  Students are expected to be in their homeroom by 9:30am and will be considered tardy once the class door has closed and class has started.  Please provide an excuse note for your child when they return to school.  It is your child’s responsibility to get and complete missed work during their absence.

Grading Policy: Unless indicated on the student’s IEP

90-100% = A; 80-89% = B; 70-79% = C; 60-69% = D; 59% and below = F.  Class grades are typically weighted in four categories.  Classwork is 40%, Tests, quizzes and projects are 30%, Participation is 20% and Homework is 10% of your child’s grade.
