Dear Parents, Scholars and Community Members,
My name is Ms. Braxton and I am the principal of Charles Dickens. I have been at this school since we opened in November of 2010. I was at the old Charles Dickens as well for a short period of time. I would like share with you my level of dedication to your students. This is a second career for me I was in the business world before making the best life choice to become an educator. Additionally, I am committed to the community, parents and scholars of Cleveland because I am also a product of Cleveland Public Schools. I have held many different roles in Cleveland Metropolitan School District: as a student, teacher, assistant principal and principal.
I read the feedback from the surveys we sent to parents. The major concerns were that your child be in a safe learning environment. I listened to my parents and I have adopted that as a goal of mine that all scholars that attend Charles Dickens will learn in a safe environment. I have taken that to be one of my goals as well for all of Charles Dickens scholars to learn in a safe environment. We have systems in place for all students to feel safe. For example, all visitors must be checked in by security and sign in the main office.
Another goal is to ensure that your child receive a quality education. We have highly qualified teachers in our building that share my beliefs on providing exceptional instruction. Our mission is to WORK HARD TO BE SMART!! That means being prepared with innovative lessons and be present to receive our scholars daily.
Lastly, it is my pleasure to serve as the principal of Charles Dickens and I look forward to an outstanding year with you and our scholars.
