    Any time there has been real or potential conflict between you and another member of our school community, you should fill out a "Conflict & Confluence" reflection so that our deans, guidance counselors, or administrators can assist you in repairing the harm or potential harm, usually through a harm and conflict circle.

  • Harm & Harmony Reflection Form

    As a school community committed to restorative practices, our approach to resolving conflict between members of the community and to resolving harm caused to the community through behavioral transgressions is a restorative approach. This means that we emphasize students having the opportunity to thoughtfully repair the damage or harm they have inflicted upon others or the community and to be empowered in the process of restoring our community to a state of harmony. In contrast to a punitive system of discipline that inflicts punishment on students as consequences, a restorative system involves students in addressing harm and owning the consequences of their actions.

    If you have been removed from a class or activity due to a Red Level (Removal) Transgression, then that is something we need to work hard to address. Thoughtfully self-reflecting will help you to grow in important "Affective" ATL skills that will ensure you are better able to self-manage and manage your relationships with staff members and other teachers. The more you grow in these "Affective" ATL skills, the more easily you will be able to rejoin your classmates and teachers and productively reengage as a learner.

    Seek help from your deans, counselors, and school administrators in making this reflection a strong one and use the feedback from your teachers to continue to grow as self-manager and in your reflectiveness.
