Dear Families 3rd Grade Musical::Here are a few things that would benefit the performance:• FOOD COMMITTEE - responsible for feeding the cast dinner on the night of both the shows. Pizza, vegetables, pretzels, fruit and water. Providing snacks and helping with lunch during final dress rehearsals.
• MAKE-UP TEAM - this is a group of maybe 5 volunteers who can quickly paint faces to look like they live in an African Safari.
• FUND RAISING - we will need money to buy material for costumes, lighting, sound and food. It could be something as simple as selling Lion King related trinkets or anything??? We are just waiting for someone to take over this big job of fund-raising. Corporate sponsors? Local groceries to donate food for the night of the rehearsal? Daves, Costco, Giant Eagle ... all these places accept request but they must be submitted in advance.
• STAGE CREW ASSISTANT - One or 2 volunteers who are able to come to the final few rehearsals to help our student stage crew. This would involve walking kids over, pulling curtains, organizing props, helping with large props.
• DECORATIONS - Someone who can make a stage and auditorium look like Africa. We are currently designing pride rock but maybe you have one in your basement?
• BIG TRUCK AND TRAILOR - We need help moving props, lots of help. Before the show and most importantly after the show since we will only have one day to clear the stage.
• PAINTERS - Ms. Cohen and the art crew will need extra help with painting.
• PROGRAM COMMITTEE - Print the Program and layout Ad copy - Involves promoting ads for the show to be included in the program, corporate sponsorship? We have Disney stock copy that has to be used. In past years, the program was 18 pages long.
• COSTUMES - Collecting beads, fabric and ideas for costume designs. We don't want a wardrobe malfunction! We currently have a good hold on this with a few volunteers but maybe this is your thing. We would love to include you.
• MAJOR CONSTRUCTION - we need pride rock, an African tree and a humongous sun on wheels and a few other strange props that need to be built and painted. Maybe you know someone outside of CIS, a relative, a neighbor who can help with any of these requests? Regardless, we need your help in making this the best production for our 3rd and 4th graders. They are working diligently, and we are so proud of each and every one of them.
Thanks, Mrs. Pohl, Mr. Levy, Ms. Cohen and Mrs. Dailey and Mrs. Matzinger
