• Dear Rickoff Families,

It is my honor and a pleasure to welcome you to the 2025-2026 school year! I hope you all had a relaxing and fun summer break. I am extremely proud to serve as the principal of this amazing learning community for my third year here at Rickoff and to continue to support the students of Rickoff!   With that said, the Rickoff administrators and staff are excited to kick this year off in true EAGLE style!

There are some changes in CMSD district policy, I want to ensure all Rickoff families are familiar.

    1. Cell Phone electronic policy
    • Students in grades K-3 are not allowed to bring any electronic devices. This includes Gizmo watches, small game systems, cell phones, ear pods, smart watches, toys of any kind.  If a student brings these items, they will be retrieved at the security checkpoint. Students in grades 4-8 should avoid bringing electronics as well.  If they do bring a smart watch, cell phone(s), ear pods they will be retrieved at the door and placed inside a secure bag. Devices are returned upon dismissal.
    1. Outside food/drinks
    • No individual outside snacks, food or drinks are permitted.  This policy was in place during the 2024-2025 school year.  Students are permitted to bring an empty water bottle and fill it once they have entered the building.  Students may have a snack in their lunch bags. A lunch consists of a sandwich, Lunchables, drink and snack.  A lunch bag full of snacks is not permitted and will be confiscated at the security checkpoint and will NOT be returned to the student.
    1. Code of Dress
    • Andrew J. Rickoff does not have a dress code.  However, we do follow a code of dress.  Students are NOT permitted to wear short shorts or skirts that are above the knees.  No crop tops, du-rags, bonnets are permitted while in the building.  Students also may NOT wear Ski Mask. This applies for all grade levels K-8.

The doors of Rickoff open at 7:10 am daily and students are dismissed at 2:05 pm.  Every minute, every hour, Counts for Attendance. Students are served breakfast and lunch daily.  We encourage all students to come to school on time to maximize their learning and SOARing for the 2025-2026 school year.

Please feel free to contact me at 216.838.4150 to make an appointment to speak with me to discuss new and innovative ideas, joining our monthly parent café or how you can volunteer at Rickoff.

    Go EAGLES!

I strongly encourage you to attend our monthly Parent Cafe Monthly meetings held by our parent ambassador.  The more involvement from our families and caregivers, the greater academic and developmental success of your scholar at Rickoff.
