January 14, 2021: Our school has had a reported case of COVID-19. Any individual identified as being in close contact with the person has already been notified. Crews thoroughly clean and disinfect our building nightly, and it is safe for use. Please continue to follow all safety protocols.
It is with great pride and excitement that we bring to you this news! This week CMSD started the vaccination process for all interested district educators. Over the next few weeks, CMSD will vaccinate approximately 7,000 people. Many of our Riverside educators received their first shot today and many more will be heading over to Max S. Hayes High School or East Technical High School at some point within the next several days. These vaccinations put us one step closer to being back in our building with all of our amazing Owls! Ms. Kama-Starr was one of 11 district educators to recieve this quarter's H.E.A.R.T Champion award.If you have had any interaction at all with Ms. Kama-Starr you no doubt know that she is truly deserving of this Award. Ms. Lapaglia was also chosen as a district runner up! Congratulations to the both of them.
Ten District teachers have learned that they have won this year’s Excellence in Teaching Award. The honor goes to teachers who demonstrate instructional expertise, creativity and innovation and set an example for their peers.
A dozen CMSD schools made the Alliance for a Healthier Generation’s list, which began in 2006, singles out schools for promoting exercise, nutrition and safety among students and staff.
CMSD will extend its requirement that students, staff and visitors wear masks inside District buildings, CEO Eric Gordon has announced. The requirement will remain in effect at least through the start of the new year, CEO Gordon said in a message sent Wednesday to students, families and staff.
CMSD is kicking off a major new program that will get students thinking about careers at a young age and later guide them as they plan futures and gain workplace experience.
