Hello! My name is Therese Upperman, RN. Riverside Elementary has been my home since November, 2016. I have a Bachelors of Science in Nursing, and also have the ODE School Nurse Licensure, and am Nationally Certified as a School Nurse through the AACN. My position here is the Full time RN, who oversees the health needs of both the Regular Education Students and the Special Health Needs population, and the Staff and Faculty here at Riverside. It is a challenging position, but School Nursing in the Urban Setting is my passion, and I can’t think of anything else I would rather be doing. It is my firm belief that “every Child deserves a School Nurse.” When I am not assessing, triaging and advocating for students in CMSD, I am reading, coloring, watching movies, playing with my dogs, visiting family riding my bicycle, walking for fitness, “hanging out” at my Cleveland apartment, going out to new place for dinner, or completing a crosstitch project.
