Ms. Tamera Zelwin

Welcome!  I currently teach Grades 7 and 8 Mathematics, as well as Grade 8 Social Studies.  I faciliate the middle school Engineering Club and 8th graders' Lemonade Day.  I have been with CMSD since 1997, all at Orchard!  I believe that mathematical thinking and processing are vital along with implementation of 21st Century skills for our scholars.  I integrate Problem-Based Learning units with my students.  We have created locker organizers using the Mobile Fab Lab associated with MC2STEM High School.  Scholars have also found solutions for cleaning local water sources. which included a beach cleanup at Edgewater Park.  Hands-on and inquiry experiences are essential components to STEM education, and including them as often as possible is very important to me.  Lastly, scholars should appropriately use technology within the classroom for Problem-Based Learning, Blended Learning, and other forms of Technology Integration.

There are several important webpages that you will need to be familiar with in order to be successful and in the loop of what goes on in the classroom and school at large.  Here are a few:

I am looking very forward to a wonderful school year!
