Because of my versatile experience in CMSD, I have had the opportunity to work with children below, at, and above grade level. I have been very successful in working with teachers to accommodate diverse student needs by addressing all types of learners, offering individualized support, and integrating effective materials and strategies. My experiences have also given me the opportunity to delve deeply into research-based, best practice teaching methods and strategies that incorporate differentiation, problem-based learning, and technology rich tools. Because CMSD is actively involved in implementing the Common Core Standards, I also have experience with and knowledge about the rigor involved in performance based instruction and assessment.

Being an Instructional Coach has also afforded me rich opportunities and experiences that have shaped who I am as a teacher, mentor, and leader within the District. Focusing on teaching quality, school improvement, and student achievement is the main purpose and goal of any Instructional Coach. During the past nine years, I have often found myself involved in decision-making processes that shape policy within the school and, in turn, allow for such improvements to be made. Throughout the professional development sessions that I have received and given, I have also been able to attain a very clear and focused understanding of student growth and achievement in mathematics, science, and reading. My daily routine allows me to work with teachers in grades K-12 by providing the opportunity to model lessons and strategies , lead professional development workshops, analyze test data, provide resources, and conference with teachers in a reflective manner so as to create best practice lessons to use in the classroom.
