Stonebrook-White Montessori Campus

  • Welcome to the Stonebrook-White Montessori Campus!

Located near the Cleveland Cultural Gardens and University Circle, our two-building campus provides scholars with many educational opportunities that expand beyond the classroom. Our teachers use a hands-on curriculum that helps scholars develop the skills necessary to be successful in the 21st Century.

In accordance to Ohio House Bill 250 and Cleveland Municipal School District guidelines, Stonebrook-White Montessori Campus will prohibit the use of cell phones by students during all school hours.

Stonebrook White Montessori Campus is committed to increasing the learning experiences of every student by minimizing distractions and increasing focus on academic responsibilities. This policy will foster a positive and peaceful academic setting for all learners.

    Cell phone usage:

Cell phones are not permitted for use by students during school hours.

    Concessions:

By the administrative team’s discretion, students may use a cell phone on a case by case basis. Cell phone usage will be permissible to address health concerns, for purposes included in IEPs, or in cases of emergencies.

    Yondr Pouches:

Upon arrival at school, all students shall store cell phones and connected electronic devices in a magnetically locked Yondr pouch. Students will receive their Yondr pouch each morning and will be responsible for its return at the end of each school day. The pouches are to remain in the school office for the entirety of the school day. The Yondr pouches may be unlocked at the end of the school day by placing them on unlocking devices located near the main exits.

    Discipline:

Disciplinary actions will be pursued upon violations of this policy. In these events, staff members and the administrative team will pursue the following courses of action:

    · A verbal warning will be issued and the student will be directed to follow all requirements of this policy.

    · The cell phone or accompanying device will be confiscated by the administrative team and stored in the school office until the end of the school day or until a family conference occurs.

    · Written notification to family members will be sent home by the principal.

    · A conference with the student’s family will be established to review the cell phone policies.

The administrative team will apply a Level 2Q offense upon a student’s continued abuse of these policies. Any refusal to submit a cell phone or accompanying device will constitute a Level 2I offense.
