Hi, My name is Latonya Barnhardt and I am so excited to welcome you and your scholar to our second grade classroom here at Fullerton Elementary School. I am very excited to meet and learn so much about your scholar and your family. I would like to begin our year off introducing myself and give you a chance to know a little bit about me. I have been teaching for sixteen years; one year of second grade and fifteen years teaching third grade in another district. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and my Master’s Degree in Educational Technology at Cleveland State University. I have a daughter who is going into 8^th grade. She keeps me very busy with gymnastics and volleyball. In my spare time I enjoy roller skating, shopping, traveling, and most importantly spending time with my family.

Approaching second grade can be very exciting and at times very scary. This will be my first year teaching her at Fullerton and I am feeling the same nervousness and excitement that some of you may be feeling as well. Fortunately, in the second grade, scholars will have the opportunity to meet new teachers, make new friends, read exciting books, and learn many new games and songs that will incorporate critical thinking skills, rigorous thinking and technology. This is going to be an awesome year and I am very confident that your scholar will receive the best quality education with your help, support, enthusiasm and involvement!
