• Mr. Matthew Higgins

I have been employed as a teacher at the Cleveland School of the Arts (CSA) since the 2012-13 academic year as a Science teacher. I am the Physics instructor at CSA but also teach Earth Science and Physical Science. I have a B.S. degree in Geology and a B.A. degree in Physics, and a Master of Education in the field of Curriculum and Instruction. All degrees were completed from Cleveland State University. I enjoy working at CSA because I get a chance to associate myself with very talented students and faculty that motivates me to teach at a rigorous level.

I am an outdoor person as my passions include football, golf, hiking, working out (weightlifting) and most importantly the weather (meteorology).  You can find me four evenings a week at Fitness 19 at the Kamm’s Plaza located in the West Park neighborhood of Cleveland. I have also had the honor and privilege to have been employed in many different occupations in my lifetime.  I am married and have two wonderful “fur babies”, named Chip and Moon, as my designated dependents. I enjoy unhealthy food options, including fish sticks, fried foods, and red meat, which I consume liberally. I enjoy a good laugh and I hope to give you one once in a while.
