Clarissa Barnett

Clarissa Barnett-Stewart teaching experience has comprised of supporting at-risk youth within an educational setting. She is a champion for scholars who struggle with their emotions while trying to process new information. Her classroom management style seeks to bolster a student’s self-esteem while they obtain a high quality, rigorous, individualized education.  Mrs. Barnett strongly believes that the foundation for teaching and learning stands on relationship building, student engagement, and exceptional expectations.  The focus is not only on the student, but on families, teachers, and staff collaboration to meet the needs of the student. Her philosophy is that students who struggle behaviorally can rise up, and reach their full potential when they are encouraged to soar like an eagle. 

Mrs. Barnett-Stewart has been an educator for over 25 years. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with a Minor in Business Administration. She also has a Master’s Degree in Special Education, from Notre Dame College of Ohio, and has been trained in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention. Mrs. Barnett-Stewart is married with two adult children and 4 grandchildren. Two of her granddaughters are in the Gifted Program at Wade Park. She has received multiple Staff Appreciation and Attendance awards and was a member of the Leadership Team (2017).
