Mrs. Coleman
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year and 3-5 Intervention in Bennett College, Room 140! My name is Mrs. Coleman, and I am so excited to be working with Wildflowers in grades kindergarten through fourth! I’d like to take a quick moment to introduce myself and share information about the resource program at Warner Girls’ Leadership Academy.
I am entering my 26th year of teaching. I have mixed experience teaching special education and elementary education. This is my fourth year at Warner Girls’ Leadership Academy and my second year as an Intervention Specialist here.
In the resource room, your daughter will receive specialized instruction to meet her IEP goals. I will use various multisensory and hands-on activities to review, re-teach, and/or reinforce concepts taught in the general education classroom. Furthermore, I will use direct instruction to provide intensive intervention as appropriate to help maximize your child’s success.
Behavioral support will be provided through direct services and/or consultation with the classroom teacher regarding behavior plans and strategies. In addition, I will work with the girls on organizational and study strategies to help them become effective learners.
Resource services may be provided in a variety of ways, including inclusion in the general education class, co-teaching, and pull-out in the resource room. I’ll communicate closely with your Wildflower’s classroom teacher throughout the year to ensure her success.
I love helping students reach their full potential. Please consider me an advocate for your daughter at school. Feel free to contact me via email at latarus.merchant@clevelandmetroschools.org. I know your Wildflower will have a great year in the resource room!
Warmly,
Mrs. LaTarus J. Coleman
