Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year and 3rd Grade in Room A119 Hollins College at Warner Girl’s Leadership Academy! Here is information that I hope will help your child have a successful school year. This is my 8th year in CMSD and my 6th year at Warner Girls Leadership Academy. I attended Akron University, where I earned my undergraduate degree in 2012. I completed my master’s degree in 2019, with an emphasis on reading. I enjoy gardening, grilling, shopping, boating, beaches, and animals in my free time. I love teaching and working at WGLA. Please ensure your Wildflower is on time, dressed in school uniform, and has eaten breakfast. WGLA is open at 7:50 am to get breakfast before class begins. In our classroom, I expect each Wildflower to come to school prepared with their purple take-home folder daily, have a ready-to-work attitude, and communicate to resolve conflicts. We will be using Clever to access all subjects. There will be a variety of assignments on Clever and paper/pencil. Homework will be given during the week, but there will be no homework on weekends. All cell phones, tablets, watches, and earbuds must be turned off before entering the school building. Any phone brought to school will be placed in a Yondr pouch until school is dismissed. Personal cell phones should be kept safe at home to optimize student focus and learning.
