    High School Choice Fairs for the 2025-26 School Year

    • East Side Community High School Fair is Monday, November 18, 2024 from 5 - 7:30pm at Arnold Pinkney EPC.
    • West Side Community High School Fair is Wednesday, December 4, 2024 from 5 - 7:30pm at Max Hayes High School.

     


    The School Choice Portal is now open for Kindergarten - High School.
     

    For parents new to the District

    Step 1. Sign into the portal and make your choice.
    Step 2. School assignments are released on January 17, 2025.
    Step 3. Accept your school assignment.
    Step 4. Pre-register for the 2025-26 School Year by February 21, 2025, by submitting your documents online. If you need assistance, staff at our District Offices at 1111 Superior are available.
     

    For current parents in the District

    Step 1. Sign into the Portal starting November 18 and make your choice.
    Step 2. School assignments are released on January 17, 2025.
    Step 3. Accept your school assignment.
     

    For parents that already have one student at the desired school

    Step 1. Sign into the Portal starting November 18 and make your choice by December 20.
    Step 2. Accept your school assignment.
    Step 3. If the child is new to the District, Pre-Register by February 21, 2025, to receive priority placement.
     

     

    We encourage you to:

    • Attend a Community High School Fair to talk directly with representatives of the school.
    • Review and Compare Options - the High School Choice Book can help find schools that might be the right match for your student's interests and post-high school goals.
    • Consider Visiting a School - step inside and see what it would be like to go to the school of your choice.
    • Apply Online - submit your choices in the High School Choice Portal by 5PM on December 20th. 

     

    Before completing the school choice portal review important notes below:
    - If you already have an account and need to reset your password, call School Choice and Enrollment (216-838-3675) for assistance. Do not create another account.
    - Select and rank the top 3 schools you are interested in your child attending for 2025/26 school year.
    - If you are happy with the current school your child is attending, you do not need to make a choice. You will remain in that school for the upcoming school year.
    - Rank the schools in the order you want your child to attend. The goal is to assign students to the highest ranked available school.
    - Before submitting recommendations for a criteria high school, check the email addresses for the recommenders.

    Free parking is available in the attached garage (12th and Rockwell). 
     
    Office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. No appointment needed.
     
    Bring all enrollment documents to enroll the student into CMSD. Mandatory enrollment documents include: 
    • Childs Birth Certificate
    • Parent/Guardians ID
    • Students shot records
    • Custody Documents (if applicable)
    • Previous school records (transcript or report card with most recent grades)
    • Proof of residency (Lease, gas bill, light bill, paystub, etc.)
    • IEP/ETR/504 plan (if applicable)
