Thank you for considering volunteering with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. When registering to volunteer, please revise the guidelines that best work for your connection to the school district. A CMSD “volunteer” under Ohio labor laws § 553.101 is defined. (a) An individual who performs hours of service for a public agency for civic, charitable, or humanitarian reasons, without promise, expectation or receipt of compensation for services rendered, is considered to be a volunteer during such hours.
Volunteers make a difference by:
- Strengthening school programs
- Helping to establish parent groups
- Sponsoring special events
- Serving on a school advisory committee
The Board of Education is committed to promoting community and family engagement to enhance our scholars’ education in a variety of in-school and extracurricular activities.
