    Dear Students, Parents and Caregivers:

I am writing with a message of gratitude to our students, families and educators for the successful reopening of our schools for Hybrid Learning.

This week, we welcomed our third and final phase of students to Hybrid Learning and provided additional supports to families that opted to remain in a full remote learning mode by posting a designated Remote Learning Website with resources specific to our fully remote learning instruction model.

Today is the last day of the third quarter before a much deserved spring break.  Our phased-in reopening the last three weeks enabled us to orient our students and families to safety protocols in place in our schools so that our scholars could smoothly prepare for and adjust to the learning model that is best for them before beginning the last marking period with a full quarter of learning on April 6.

While I am pleased with how well our students and families have transitioned to a Hybrid Learning model overall, I also recognize that each child’s success is dependent on his or her individual level of satisfaction with the school experience.  For this reason, we are working to identify any student or family member who needs additional support to make their child’s hybrid or remote assignment a joyous and comfortable one, as it should be for all.

While I will continue to provide routine updates and resources available to families, your school principal and teachers are the first and best points of contact to address any concerns you might have and to get information specific to your child’s expectations and progress.

In the coming weeks, CMSD educators will be engaging in thoughtful planning about a number of summer learning opportunities from which students and families will be able to choose.  I will be announcing those plans and posting a menu of options for families on a designated Summer Learning website soon.

In the meantime, stay closely connected with your child’s school and continue to visit the CMSD website at www.clevelandmetroschools.org/hybrid for the most current District information.

On behalf of each of our CMSD educators, have a wonderful spring break!  We’ll see you April 6!
