The portal has been redesigned and will not recognize previous usernames and passwords.
When you create your account, be sure to use a valid email address and cell phone number. You will receive email and/or text communication about your child's application through those methods.
Parents and guardians making choices for a current CMSD student will need the student's first and last name as it appears on their report card. They will also need the student's nine-digit student ID number to access their child's profile in the system. You can find your child's ID number on their report card or progress report. You can also request them in Schoology or call the school to get the ID number.

Multilingual Multicultural Education & World Languages
Multilingual Multicultural Education is aligned with state and District standards.
Second-language learners are held to the same high expectations established for all students. A focus on academic language development will advance literacy and proficiency in the native language and the second language in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Students who speak a language other than English or live in a household where another language is spoken must register at the Multilingual Multicultural Welcome Center, located at 3145 West 46th Street, Cleveland 44102. Call 216.838.0140 or visit ClevelandMetroSchools.org/Multilingual to learn more.
CMSD’s Multilingual Multicultural Department oversees the implementation of world languages districtwide. Our mission is to promote bilingualism, biliteracy and cultural competencies by offering a wide range of language learning opportunities that prepare K-12 students to succeed in today’s diverse world.
Opportunities in STEM Education
To fully prepare English Learner (EL) students for the 21st Century workforce, CMSD encourages them to explore how studies in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) can position them for success. EL students who attend STEM schools receive additional assistance from bilingual staff.

Earning our reputation as a model of school safety
At a time when school safety is in the national spotlight, CMSD continues to outpace other districts in the proactive measures we take to keep students safe every day.
Metal detectors at the entrance of every building and X-ray machines in our high schools have proved successful in keeping weapons out of our schools and in providing daily reminders to students and families that safety is a high priority in every CMSD school.
Security officers are trained in the nation’s best practices in crisis prevention, social and emotional learning and crisis response.
Caring CMSD security officers are seen by students as an integral part of their school experience. School-based security officers, investigator counselors and mobile patrol officers who monitor our school grounds are state-certified safety professionals who greet students and provide professional support to help them make good choices for themselves and others every day.

My child has special needs. Where can we access the supports available?
All CMSD schools provide access to specially designed instruction, related services and accommodations for students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). We therefore encourage students with special needs and their families to consider every available school option, including our criteria schools. A number of CMSD high schools have added specialized programs and services to meet the most intensive needs of our students. If, when exploring your high school choices, your preferred school does not offer your child’s specialized program or services, a CMSD enrollment specialist will work with you to discuss your school options. Placement of students in programs designed around their special needs is tentative until the student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) reviews are complete.
Call the Special Education Office at 216.838.7733 for assistance.
