- High standards/rigorous curriculum – The Cleveland Board of Education adopted guidelines for athletic and student activities eligibility during the 2021-2022 school year. The guidelines indicate that students must achieve a 1.0 GPA or higher, and be enrolled in five one credit courses for grades 9-12 and four one credit courses for grades 7-8.
- Promote extracurricular activities for students – specifically through increasing the number of students participating in extracurricular activities, by creating a variety of city-wide artistic groups and by expanding the variety of offerings available to students.
- Student participation will be linked to student achievement – in an effort to confirm the effects of student involvement on student academic performance.
