Our Commitment to Digital Equity and Digital Literacy
Empower CMSD is our district-wide program that focuses on the digital aspect of equity and inclusion for our students and families.
The program leverages several partnership opportunities in both the public and private sectors. By actively soliciting and receiving the support of residential internet providers, engaging with social and policy advocates and identifying interested financial supporters, we continuously demonstrate our commitment to taking all necessary steps to close the digital divide.
KEEPING US CONNECTEDDEVICESThrough the empowerCMSD program, The District provides a device for every student and tech support. Schools request devices for their students. Students and Families can also call the service desk number (216.838.0440) for any questions or issues related to the student devices. PCs for People provides our graduating seniors with a device at commencement.Broadband Internet AccessWe have partnered with Digital C and Spectrum to provide subsidized internet to our CMSD families through the "Stay Connected" program. These providers will determine if a student's house meets their pre-wired qualifications to receive services.FREE SOFTWAREThe District recently partnered with Microsoft Corporation, a partnership which provides a free download of its Office 365 ProPlus software suite (e.g., Word, Powerpoint, Excel, etc.). Current students and staff are able to download the Microsoft products through their account homepage at no cost, as long as they are affiliated with the District.Download Microsoft Office Products
OTHER TECHNOLOGYOther tech benefits and services available to CMSD students and families include interactive Clevertouch screens in every classroom and ID badges that let parents monitor their children's travel on district school buses. The ID's double as Cleveland Public Library cards.NEED SERVICE OR SUPPORT
