Greetings CMSD Families and Friends,
As we enter September, a month dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of regular school attendance, I am filled with hope and pride for the strides we’re making here at CMSD. This National Attendance Month, we are celebrating a significant achievement: absenteeism is going down, and attendance is going up across our District. This progress is a testament to the commitment of our students, families, and educators to prioritize learning and stay engaged in their education.
To that end, progress, however, is not just about reaching milestones; it’s about continuing to move forward together. That’s why I’m inviting all of you to join us at the Step Up for Cleveland Kids Rally and Walk on September 21, from 9 a.m. until 1p.m. to rally behind the importance of attendance, student enrollment and community engagement. This event will be filled with fun, prizes, excitement and special guests.
To step-up and participate in the rally or walk, I invite you to register on Step Up for Cleveland Kids webpage. Your presence and support make all the difference as we continue to strive for excellence in education.

Virtual Gradebook In addition to improved attendance, I’m excited to announce another major step forward in our commitment to transparency and communication with families: the launch of CMSD’s new virtual gradebook. We’re using PowerSchool to provide parents with real-time access to their child's grades and progress, fostering a deeper connection between home and school. The Future of CMSD includes Equity and Access, and with the virtual gradebook, we are making it easier than ever for families to be involved in their child’s success.
Get More Re-launch
As I close out, I am thrilled to announce the relaunch of the Get More Opportunities Fund, now revamped as GMOF 2.0
This initiative reflects our unwavering commitment to ensuring that every scholar in our District has the resources and opportunities to thrive. With a renewed focus on equity, transparency, and student empowerment, GMOF 2.0 is designed to bring innovative projects and transformative experiences directly to our schools.
We believe in the limitless potential of our scholars, and the relaunch of this fund is a testament to that belief. Together, let’s continue to build a brighter future where every scholar has the chance to shine. I encourage you all to explore the opportunities GMOF 2.0 offers and join us in this exciting journey forward. Let’s keep this momentum going. Together, we are building a future filled with promise and opportunity for every scholar at CMSD.
Yours in Gratitude,
Dr. Warren G. Morgan
