    CMSD's Preschool Philosophy

CMSD Step Up To Quality Preschools

Cleveland Metropolitan School District believes that children’s learning is enhanced through play and developmentally appropriate learning experiences. Our preschool programs provide a safe and nurturing environment that promotes a community of learners.

Our preschool program prepares students for kindergarten by providing a strong foundation of early literacy, social-emotional and math skills. Our program implements a developmentally appropriate curriculum that is aligned to the Ohio Department of Education’s Early Learning and Developmental Standards: physical well-being and motor development, cognition and general knowledge, language and literacy development, approaches toward learning and social and emotional development.
