• ABA: Community Involvement in Decision Making

    Policy

Community participation is essential for the District and members of the community to develop and maintain mutual confidence and respect and work together to improve the quality of education for students. Community includes parents or guardians, students, educators, residents and others with an interest in supporting the District. To that effect, the Board will make efforts to identify the interests and concerns of the community and be responsive to those interests and concerns. However, final responsibility and authority for decision-making rests with the Board.

The Board and District invite the community to be involved by:

    • Becoming members of Citizens Advisory Groups to the Board
    • Forming corporate partnerships
    • Volunteering in the schools
    • Attending Board meetings and other District-sponsored community events
    • Communicating with the District
