We’re here to support you!
The Responsible Sexual Behavior Department (RSBD) works with teachers and schools to provide equitable, quality, comprehensive sexual health education. Together we have a positive impact on student health and safety through school-based prevention education programs.
RSBD has the subject-matter expertise and experience you need, including curriculum information, assistance with projects that promote safer and supportive schools, and guidance for making referrals to community agencies and health providers. We also have Youth Risk Behavior Survey data at the individual school- and district-level to inform you on student risk behaviors.
Please share your suggestions for improvement or ideas for activities or projects with us. Help us spread the word about the resources offered in our schools and communities. Talk to your colleagues, let your students and school staff know what is offered and encourage parents and others in your community to get involved.
“I felt I got a very positive reaction from the kids because we had a lot of discussion. We got to talk about issues that a lot of them have dealt with because we have young people in school who are pregnant and who have experienced a lot of what the lessons cover. The curriculum we had was very, very good because the students see now that the decisions they make now can affect them down the line.” – CMSD High School Teacher
“The curriculum provides kids with the information that they really need to make these healthy decisions as they move into adulthood.” – CMSD Middle School Teacher
