OPES
For our school administrators, CMSD has adopted the same principal evaluation model used across Ohio, OPES. We use this system for our principals and assistant principals. For more information on OPES please visit the Ohio Department of Education web site.
Ohio has recently approved new principal standards. CMSD and ODE both are using the original standards for the 2021-2022 year.

OPES Suggested Evidence
This is a list of possible types of evidence that are aligned to the OPES rubric. It is not a requirement to provide the items listed here and this is not to be construed as a check list for an Accomplished (or other) rating. These are merely possible examples to substantiate a performance rating for the associated indicator.
-

-
OPES in TDES: Notes and Tagging - Evaluator
Evaluators using the TDES portal to access and manage administrative evaluations can keep a running record of evidence for the administrator and tag that evidence with the applicable component of the OPES rubric.
-

OPES in TDES: Mid-Year Rating - Evaluator
These are instructions for the evaluator to complete the administrator's mid-year rating in the TDES portal for the OPES evaluation. Evaluators can rate either just on the OPES standards, or on the standards and all components. Notes and evidence collected and tagged earlier are available on the longer form that rates at the component level. Both forms are not required, but at least one is recommended.
-
OPES in TDES: Summative Self-Assessment - Administrator
Administrators are encouraged to complete the optional self-assessment on the OPES rubric prior to the summative rating conference with the evaluator.
-
OPES in TDES: Final Summative Assessment and Rating - Evaluator
