•

November is National Family Engagement Month. National Parent Involvement Day also occurs this month on Thursday, November 20th.

Over 40 years of research clearly indicates all scholars achieve at higher levels when schools and families support each other.

When schools and families are engaged in meaningful two-way communication and collaboration, scholars have:

    • More positive attitudes toward school
    • Higher grades and test scores, which equal higher achievement
    • Better attendance
    • More homework completed
    • Higher graduation rates
    • Greater enrollment in post-secondary educational opportunities

This month and always, the Cleveland Metropolitan School District is grateful to families and caregivers for the important role they play in their children’s education.

CMSD will do its best to ensure that this partnership continues to flourish and grow. To assist, we have provided links below for both families and educators to explore.

Families and educators, please share photographs and videos of CMSD family engagement programs, meetings and events on social media to show how families and schools are partnering to support their scholars' success.
