District Parent Advisory Committee (DPAC)
Because parents play a vital role in the education of their children, the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) has a Parent Advisory Committee to represent the voice of CMSD families and students. Collectively and individually, this committee will act as a sounding board and resource for the district's initiative to build and maintain family-school partnerships in alignment with The Cleveland Plan.
In addition, members will work to increase parent and family engagement in education through effective communication while empowering and advocating for all families. The committee will meet 4 times during the school year and provide feedback on district initiatives presented by CMSD district leaders.
Each member will serve a one-year term and participate in a mandatory training session in the fall. Members of the DPAC may also serve on other district subcommittees. DPAC members must have a child enrolled in the district and be recommended by their building principal or leader.
