Policy
Proposals regarding Board policies shall primarily be introduced to the Board by the Chief Executive Officer, however policy proposals may originate from a number of sources, including students, parents/guardians, community members, employees, Board members, or consultants.
Policies introduced and recommended to the Board should, in most instances, not be adopted until a subsequent meeting in order to permit further study and provide opportunity for community input on the proposed policies. The formal adoption of policies is recorded in the minutes of the Board meeting at which the policies were so adopted.
Unless otherwise specified, a new policy or amended policy, or the repeal of an existing policy is effective as of the date of adoption by the Board and supersedes all previous policies in that area.
The Chief Executive Officer shall provide for a regular periodic review of all Board policies and make recommendations to the Board for adoption of new policies or amendment of existing policies.
