• Author and Publisher Guidelines

For us to consider including your book in our Community, College, and Career Center collections across the district, we kindly request that you fill out the required form, and provide a review copy of the book in either digital or physical form, to be evaluated on the following universal standards:

    1. Is it aligned to our district’s educational program, including aligning with our curriculum and curriculum standards?
    2. Does it support our mission of representing a wide range of viewpoints?
    3. Is there available funding to purchase this material across our PreK/K-8 schools and/or high schools?
    4. What age range and reading level is it appropriate for? Is it developmentally appropriate for scholars?
    5. Does it reflect scholar’s interests and needs?
    6. Is the text accurate and clear? Does it reflect a high standard of quality?
    7. Is it designed and formatted appropriately for PreK-12 scholars?

Once the copy is reviewed by the Director of Library and Media Services, meetings are held with the directors and/or program managers from the appropriate curriculum department that most closely aligns with the text. A final decision will be made based upon the above in a timely manner: we try to respond within two weeks, though this is dependent on a wide range of factors.

Please submit your review copies via one of the methods below. This copy is used solely for material evaluation and is not used in any other form or fashion.
