Policy
Students seeking admission to the District enrolled in non-chartered schools or home school programs may be required to take competency examinations. These examinations aim to determine the proper grade placement for these students.
In making a placement decision, the Chief Executive Officer considers:
- The child’s most recent annual academic assessment report
- Requiring the child to take any or all of the nationally normed, standardized achievement tests scheduled for District students of similar age
- Other evaluation information, including interviews with the child and the parent
Students in grades 9-12 must take final exams for credit only. Students in grades 6-8 must take final exams for grade-level placement.
