GCQI: Sick Leave Donation
Policy
If provided for in the relevant collective bargaining agreement, The Board of Education of the Cleveland Municipal School District allows employees, who are members of a collective bargaining unit or are subject to a collective bargaining agreement, to donate sick time to other employees in cases where the recipient has a serious illness or injury and does not have sick time accumulated. The donation and use of donated sick leave are governed by District regulations.
Under Ohio law the Board of Education does not have the authority to provide a sick leave donation program to employees who are not members of a collective bargaining unit or are not subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
