Policy
The Board recognizes the severe implications of students' drug, alcohol, and tobacco use. Therefore, the Board and District work to develop preventative education programs.
The Board and staff educate students about the dangers of the misuse and abuse of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco, including electronic smoking devices. Instructional units include sessions about the harmful effects and legal restrictions against using and abusing drugs, alcohol, and tobacco, including electronic smoking devices. The District's Comprehensive Wellness Plan contains information on the instructional units.
School counselors and nurses have information about drug and alcohol counseling and rehabilitation/re-entry programs.
